Wi-Fi has transformed the way we use gadgets like cell phones, tablets, laptops and other portable devices so much that we can’t imagine our lives without it. At Transit Wireless, we’ve been working hard to keep New Yorkers connected to Wi-Fi networks in below ground subway stations and are on track to have connectivity in all 279 NYC subway stations by the end of the year.

Not all cities have the technology that we do here in New York; did you know that there are 4 billion people in the world without Wi-Fi? That’s why Transit Wireless has teamed up with other members of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) to participate in World Wi-Fi Day this Monday, June 20th.  In its inaugural year, World Wi-Fi Day is a special initiative with the aim of accelerating affordable wireless connectivity around the world. It is a platform to recognize and celebrate the significant role that Wi-Fi is playing in cities and communities around the world by driving exciting and innovative projects to ‘connect the unconnected.’

Transit Wireless wants you to join us as we celebrate World Wi-Fi Day with a chance to win a free 64GB Apple iPad Air 2 equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity. Will you be connecting to Transit Wireless WiFi on one of the 150 connected subway platforms or just connecting to Wi-Fi in your apartment? Tell us how you connect on Monday, June 20th and Tuesday, June 21st by posting how you celebrate World Wi-Fi Day on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram and tag it with #worldwifiday and #twwifi for your chance to win!

Three lucky participants from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will be randomly selected to win! Social media posts must take place from 12:01AM on June 20th to 11:59 PM on June 21st. Winners will be notified through Facebook. You can view the full sweepstakes rules here.
